PSALM 34:4 TRIBUTE

Save me, O God

For the floodwaters are up to my neck

(Deeper and deeper)

I sink into the mire

I can't find a foothold

I'm in deep water

And the floods overwhelm me

I'm exhausted from crying for help

My throat is parched

(I cry) out to the Lord

(I plead) for the Lord's mercy

I pour out my complaints before Him

And tell Him all my troubles

When I'm overwhelmed

You alone know the way

I should turn

You know

What I've endured

I prayed to the Lord

And He answered me

He freed me from all my fears

Wherever I go

My enemies set traps for me

I look for someone to come (and help me)

But no one gives me a passing thought

No one will help me

No one cares a bit (what happens to me)

Have mercy on me, O God

Have mercy

I look to You for protection

I'll hide beneath the shadow of Your wings

Until the danger passes by

You know (what I've endured)

I prayed to the Lord

And He answered me

I cry out to God Most High

To God who will fulfill His purpose (for me)

He'll send help from heaven to rescue me

Disgracing those who hound me

My God will send forth His unfailing love and faithfulness
